Semagic

Semagic, the best Livejournal client for Windows, is now also a decent general blogging client. Works with MSN Spaces, Xanga, and others. I’d wish it fetched my WordPress categories automatically.

Blogs are good for a career now

Blogs ‘essential’ to a good career– Says blogs can help you network, get a job, train you, and help you get noticed. It’s really good for “fields like business and law,” says USNews (for whom I worked for thanks to working on the Calstuff blog). Good reversal of fortune, as last year people were getting fired over blogging.

Metroblogging Azeroth

Metroblogging Azeroth: The town world (thanks Tony) of Azeroth in the game World of Warcraft has more than 5 million people in it, which would make it the 28th most populous city in the world and . There’s also a lot interesting stuff going on there, so why not have a blog about it. (via Boing Boing)

Linkblogging

After playing around with a variety of linkblog solutions, including WordPress plugins and My Web 2.0, I found a decent guide in the Codex on how to build one. It even told me how to put them into the blog next to the regular entries. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post more with the link blog, which I’ll be calling Asides like Photo Matt does.
