Been out of livejournal posting for a while. But anyways, here’s a picture from Tahoe last week. Sledding was incredibly fun, as was gambling at the casino, (granted I lost two bucks on penny slot machines, but that wasn’t much). Can’t believe this is the last Tahoe trip I’ll take with these guys.
ABC News: You Should Watch the Super Bowl Like It’s Your Job– “Smart, savvy business people pride themselves on keeping up with current events, politics and celebrity gossip so they always have interesting tidbits to contribute to small talk at meetings, parties and social outings. They know that idle chitchat is awfully valuable in building professional relationships because it allows people to connect on a relaxed and personal level.” (via Micropersuasion)
The Unofficial AEPi blog takes some design queues from my Calstuff design. It is also written by one of my Calstuff partners, Andy.
Finally upgraded to WordPress 2.0. Not a monumentual leap over the previous version, but still good. The plugins I use are working better actually than they were before.
IGN: Playtime with Star Wars Transformers– This has got to be close to the ultimate nerd toy.
Feed Icons-The new standard feed icon is the one on Mozilla Firefox and its live bookmarks. I finally implemented these on the site; now we need a standard way of putting them into an RSS reader.
Simple Contextual Advertising System– Finally found a way to replace words with links or whatever in javascript.

One of my inspirations for building this site, Jason Kottke, has a cool way of posting about the movies he’s watched. I’m attempting to add something similiar to this site, using the Rate My Stuff plugin. Two movies are listed below. I’m still tweaking and perfecting this though.
I am so glad they set this movie in the past, since a modern setting would have killed the wonder of the movie (the old time New York scenes do tend to distract you from the movie though). Terrific movie, though not very strong plot-wise.
