My brother just graduated from Lincoln High School, on Thursday. He was the welcome speaker and had this to say about achievement:
“Achievement is not about finding something you never had; it’s about finding something you always had.”
Sure did sound nice, but when I think about it, I totally don’t buy that. I mean isn’t achievement an acknowledgement from the outside? Oh well.

Hmm…the definition is debatable…I remember from 2001-2002 Acadec one philosopher believed that our life’s work is programmed within us, and that the artist will never reach self-fulfillment until she taps into her artistic capabilities and becomes an artist. Perhaps achievement as your brother sees it is reaching a place that was already inside you, or becoming the person you were meant to become?
I always liked that philosophy; it seems beautiful to me =)
Congratualations to your brother, the Acadec powerhouse! I am always happy for my Acadec brethren (except my Acadec rivals). Where is he going to college?
